As doctors are becoming more familiar with ASD the diagnosis of Aspergers and HFA are becoming more common. The kids who are verbal are stuck in a no man's land as most people tend to consider them "not autistic" but they are still not neurotypical either. I wrote this in response to a comment implying that there aren't kids with ASD who can speak. http://amplify.com/u/a14ju9
