Saturday, June 4, 2011 Many people seem to believe that people with HFA are rare! As doctors are becoming more familiar with ASD the diagnosis of Aspergers and HFA are becoming more common. The kids who are verbal are stuck in a no man's land as most people tend to consider them "not autistic" but they are still not neurotypical either. I wrote this in response to a comment implying that there aren't kids with ASD who can speak.
